FAQ
Issues and Errors
Why Does the “This Code Is No Longer Valid” Message Appear?
This error usually means that the QR code for installing the eSIM has already been used before or has expired. Each eSIM QR code is typically single-use — once the installation has been completed successfully, it cannot be used again on the same or another device. This can also happen if the installation process was interrupted or only partially completed, but the system still marked the code as used.
This issue occurs on both iOS (iPhone) and Android devices because it is related to how the eSIM system works, not to a specific device model.
Can an eSIM QR Code Be Used Again?
No — in most cases, an eSIM QR code is assigned to a one-time activation only. If you try to scan it again, the system will display a message saying that the code is no longer valid.
What you can do:
First, check whether the eSIM has already been added to your phone:
iOS:
Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data
Android:
Settings → SIM Cards / Mobile Network
If the eSIM is visible on the list, you do not need to reinstall it — simply activate it and set it as the primary line for mobile data.
Is the Problem Different on iPhone and Android?
The error itself works the same way on both systems, but the causes may look slightly different.
iOS (iPhone)
This error often appears when the user tries to scan the QR code again after a failed installation or after deleting the eSIM from the device. The iPhone remembers that the code has already been used.
Android
The issue may occur if the installation process was interrupted (for example due to no internet connection or closing the setup screen) or if the system did not complete the configuration properly even though the carrier already marked the code as used.
In both cases, the result is the same — the code cannot be reused.
What Should You Do If This Error Appears?
Check whether the eSIM is already installed
Sometimes the installation was actually completed successfully even though an error message appeared. If the eSIM is visible in your settings, try enabling it and using it.
Do not remove the eSIM too quickly
If the eSIM has already been added, deleting it may prevent you from reinstalling it without receiving a new QR code.
Try completing the setup instead of reinstalling
Make sure that:
- the eSIM is enabled,
- it is set as the primary line for mobile data,
- data roaming is enabled (if required).
Check your internet connection during installation
eSIM installation requires a stable Wi-Fi connection — losing internet access during setup may interrupt the process and cause activation issues.
