eSIM Installation
Using eSIM
On Android phones, there is a data-saving feature that gives users control over which apps can use data in the background and in active mode. Apps running in the background can significantly increase data usage, so managing their access can be very useful when using unlimited internet with limited speed. You can enable data saving as follows:
For Android:
-
Option 1:
Settings -> Connections -> Data Usage -> Data Saver -> Toggle the switch next to "Turn On Now" -
Option 2:
Settings -> Network & Internet -> Data Saver -> Toggle the switch next to "Data Saver".
Disable Automatic App Updates
To save mobile data, it's also important to turn off automatic app updates on both Android and iOS devices, as updates may download while using the internet.
-
For Android:
Play Store -> More options (three lines) -> Settings -> Network Preferences -> Auto-update apps -> Don't auto-update apps -> OK -
For iPhone:
Settings -> App Store -> Automatic Downloads -> App Downloads and App Updates -> Slide the toggle to the left (gray background).
Disable Photo Syncing on iOS (for eSIM users):
To avoid excessive data usage, we recommend turning off photo syncing via iCloud while using eSIM on iOS devices:
- iPhone -> Settings -> Apple ID -> iCloud -> Apps Using iCloud -> Photos -> Turn Off
