Added: 08.12.2023, Updated: 12.12.2023,

Many people ask themselves whether it is possible to live a modern lifestyle in exotic countries. Especially since, as time goes by, tourists are becoming more demanding, and very often it is not enough for them to just have a clean place to sleep. Many people, when going to such a distant place, still want to keep in touch with family or friends, and for this activity they need, among other things, a permanent Internet connection (to talk via Skype or WhatsApp). We analyzed web access in India, which is becoming a very popular destination for Polish tourists. Results below ;)

2. Roaming

Roaming is the simplest option, which involves using the internet through international roaming. Its biggest advantage is its ease of use. Just turn on the mobile network on your phone and voila - we have Internet. The only rather serious downside is that we also have a gigantic bill for using the Internet afterwards. The cost of international roaming reaches several thousand zlotys for downloading 1GB of data. Due to such skyrocketing amounts, we recommend using this option only in emergency situations. Unfortunately, internet roaming in India can be terribly expensive.

3. SIM cards and phones - mobile internet India

In India, as in most countries, any foreigner can purchase a SIM card of a local network and use the Internet packages offered by Indian mobile operators. However, there is a catch to such mobile Internet India - if you purchase a SIM in Delhi, you can only use it in that area. Any connection or use of the Internet elsewhere in India will be treated as "roaming," resulting in additional charges. Therefore, it seems a much wiser idea to rent a phone in India that you can use anywhere in India. However, we are still limited to one device, in addition, not our own....

4. WiFi hotspots

Hotlinie w IndiachEven in such an exotic country, getting mobile Internet in India will not be an ordeal, as you can easily find WiFi hotspots, which are available in almost every better restaurant, airports and train stations. However, there are many disadvantages of hotspots, including one closely related to India. Well, in that country not all WiFi hotspots are free. In many buildings, hotspots are password-protected. It should also be borne in mind that such Internet can have a relatively low transfer speed, while in the case of an unsecured network, Internet surfing can be very dangerous!
