Turkey is a country that is not a member of the European Union. This means that in this country it is not possible to use free mobile data within the standard subscription of a Polish operator. How to ensure permanent Internet access in Turkey?
It is possible to use Polish SIM cards in Turkey, but roaming prices are very high. For 1 MB of data you pay even more than PLN 30. A way to bypass this cost may be to buy a special package from a Polish operator. However, it should be remembered that such plans are usually valid only in a specific country, so they will not work well during round trips across several countries. They are also quite limited - providing access to a few or a dozen GB.
Turkey has three major operators - Vodafone, Turkcell and Turk Telekom. The country has access to the latest generation of mobile networks - 5G and LTE. So in Turkey you can easily use high-speed Internet, which will work well even when working remotely.
Many people choose to purchase a Turkish SIM card. In this country, there is no need to conclude long-term contracts. In Turkey, you can successfully buy pre-paid cards topped up to a specific amount. However, such a solution can sometimes be risky - additional fees may be charged when the limit is exceeded. You also sometimes have to wait even a few hours for the activation of the kata.
SIM cards available at airports, however, are quite expensive. Getting to other areas of the city without Internet access, on the other hand, can sometimes be complicated, especially if you don't speak the local language. What's more, it happens that physical SIM cards from other countries don't work with smartphones bought in Poland.
An alternative to SIM cards and packages from Polish operators are eSIM routers. They allow you to turn on the Internet as soon as you leave the plane. You don't have to wait for the card to be activated or make sure it will work with a given smartphone model. What's more, the routers from XOXO WiFi not only provide internet in Turkey, but also in more than 150 other countries. They automatically switch between networks, selecting the best available carrier in the area.
The eSIM router can be ordered already in Poland. This device does not require additional activation. It provides access to unlimited Internet even to several devices at the same time. It allows safe use of Wi-Fi, which cannot be said of free, public networks available, for example, at airports.
