Why the popularity of road trips?
Curiosity is said to be the first step to hell. However, if our world constantly tempts travelers with numerous attractions, it is no wonder that many travelers decide to satisfy their desire to experience new sensations. Hence, plenty of people want to see as much as possible. The limiter? In this case, definitely time.
In the shortest possible time, travelers want to fulfill as many travel resolutions as possible. Often, travelers end up visiting seven countries for a seven-day trip. This trend can be seen both in independent trips to the world and in the offerings of travel agencies.
Popular destinations
For Polish travelers, consistently the most tempting is our native Old Continent. Just pack up the car and make a trip to Switzerland, hooking up with Germany and Austria along the way. The Balkans are also an interesting destination. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia or Slovenia are certainly countries that hide plenty of attractions for tourists.
Non-EU destinations are also growing in popularity. Trips to Thailand - while hooking up with Vietnam and Cambodia - tempt travelers with nature, monuments and attractive prices. It can be said that nowadays the only limitation for tourists is their imagination. Often people are willing to take a trip around the world for more than half a year. It is certainly a guarantee of an unforgettable experience.
Problems associated with a roundtrip tour
For many travel destinations - the biggest obstacle can be restrictions related to access to the country. For selected countries, many travelers still need to make a tourist visa. This is both a time-consuming and costly activity. In addition to such problems, another limitation can certainly be prices in the countries concerned. While many destinations are very attractively priced (e.g. Ukraine), Scandinavian countries, Japan or Singapore, for example, can have very high financial requirements. When traveling there, you sometimes have to prepare to spend thousands of zlotys on accommodation, food, access to tourist attractions or souvenirs.
Internet on the go - what does it look like for a road trip?
Due to technological developments, mobile Internet is necessary even for very remote trips. Printed maps and phrasebooks are a thing of the past, and access to navigation and an online translator is extremely useful, especially on round trips.
The biggest obstacles? If sourcing a new SIM card, keep in mind that roaming costs will be bypassed only in the country where the card was acquired. Traveling to another country, we have to again make a tedious search of the store and deliberate over the choice of the appropriate Internet package. It is far too time-consuming to shop around for a suitable SIM card for most of the trip.
