Mobile Internet in Thailand 2024

Added: 07.12.2023, Updated: 12.12.2023,
Year after year, exotic Asian countries are becoming increasingly popular destinations for Polish tourists. One of the most popular is Thailand. The street food capital of Bangkok, the promiscuity basin of Pattaya or the paradisiacal islands in the Andaman Sea - no matter where you go you're sure to be eager to share your experiences with loved ones via social media. But how to connect to the Internet in such a remote country, where roaming is sure to ruin our budget? Here are all the possible options for mobile Internet in Thailand.

1. Hotspots

Free hotspots in hotels are the norm, but if you're a backpacker and looking for the cheapest form of lodging, WiFi may not be included in the price of your stay or not available at all. Hotspots are also available in restaurants, pubs and other most popular public places. Sometimes a password or registration is required. Of course, because it is a public connection its speed may only allow you to use Messenger, and browsing can become an anguish after a few moments. Let's also remember that the public connection does not guarantee the security of our data! Let's be careful when logging into bank accounts and other sites containing our private data.

2. XOXO WiFi mobile router

Internet in Thailand with XOXO WiFiMobile routers are a new solution to problems related to a wide range of issues, such as "mobile Internet in Thailand," and Internet connectivity in general when traveling abroad. The XOXO WiFi device can share the signal between up to 5 devices (laptops, phones, tablets, PSPs, etc., etc.), and unlimited data usage will make Internet on the go no longer a worry even at the end of the world and paradise islands of Thailand. In addition, the device is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies to protect your data from hacker attacks.

3. Internet cafes

Although the fashion for Internet cafes in Poland is long gone, they are still flourishing in Thailand. This is an ideal option if we do not intend to use the mobile Internet all the time in Thailand, but only once in a while to check emails and write back to the family that we are alive ;) the cafes are very cheap (from 2 to 12 PLN on the islands/h), although we must remember to log out of all accounts, so that when we return home we do not encounter an unpleasant surprise....

4. SIM cards

A very popular option for mobile Internet in Thailand is to buy a local SIM card with the right amount of GB of Internet for us to use. It's best to have a phone with the ability to insert two SIM cards - our domestic one and the local one, so that we don't have to turn off our number or change cards every now and then, which can be a bit tiring. Of course, in case of holidays, public holidays or our remote location from any civilization, buying a SIM card may prove problematic... Before traveling, find out if there is a store with local SIM cards available in the place where we will be vacationing.
